STEM Stark Tank was our first summer camp, offered for free to city of Richmond residents aged 12-19 as part of the city's Positive Youth Development Fund in Summer 2023.
For the first four days of camp, teams of students combined their creative ideas, and their knowledge of the scientific process and STEM principles to develop the next new innovation! On hand to assist the students were STEM educators who provided hands-on guidance on the team projects from conception to prototype to presentation.
On the fifth day of camp, the student teams pitched their ideas to the "sharks" (local STEM professionals) who voted to either "bite" (project is viable as a new innovation) or "circle the waters" (project needs more R&D).
